This mineral specimen is an 8.1 cm rough mineral featuring blue chrysocolla, sparkling quartz, and contrasting pink and black mineral areas. It is a natural, untreated geology specimen for mineral collectors and anyone seeking a colorful mineral display. The rough crystal also includes black heterogenite, malachite, and cobaltoan calcite across its matrix.
This mineral specimen features sparkling drusy quartz over vivid blue chrysocolla, with pink and black mineral contrast visible across the natural matrix. The 8.1 cm quartz specimen combines chrysocolla, quartz, black heterogenite, malachite, and cobaltoan calcite for collectors of African minerals and geology specimens. Its rough, untreated, unpolished form makes it a distinctive natural crystal for mineral display.
From Tenke deposit, Kolwezi mining district, DR Congo comes this beautiful sparkling specimen of drusy quartz over chrysocolla and black heterogenite. The chrysocolla formed across two sides of the matrix with a single poking through in one spot. There is minor cobaltoan calcite mixed into matrix giving it a pinkish color.
The heterogenite gives some excellent contrast, and the quartz has nice luster which produces a glittery effect. A beautiful piece from this large copper deposit!
